Introdução, Park Hotel Kenmare

Find me a hotel in Kenmare. Hotels like conference hotel, business meeting hotels, event hotel and incentive hotels in Ireland. This five star hotel in the pretty Kerry heritage town of Kenmare oozes the character and charm of a bygone era. Think gentile style, rambling corridors full of original art and comfy sofas, a grand staircase, manicured grounds leading down to the water, the crunch of wheels on gravel, fine dining, luxury bedrooms, and a discreet service from the General Manager and his staff which puts you right at ease the moment you arrive. And there you have the Park in a nutshell. It’s almost impossible to explain how wonderful this place is – because anything we say couldn’t really describe the experience of staying here and enjoying all of the above and more for yourself. The Park is one of the grand old buildings of Ireland, formerly one of the original railway hotels, and having spent some years in disrepair, it’s now been restored to its former glory. And what glory it is. The short drive off the road and up to the car park out front takes you out of the centre of this lovely market town - and into another world. The building itself is elegant and representative of its period – the late 1800’s – and epitomises the romantic, golden age of steam railway travel. It was built by the Great Southern and Western Railway Company as a stopover hotel en route to Sneem. Since 1985 it has been privately owned by Francis and John Brennan, who have given the hotel a new life in keeping with its former one, and made sure the atmosphere and ambience of that time past has been retained and treasured.

Dados, Park Hotel Kenmare

The Park hotel boasts 46 fabulous rooms, all individually decorated and ranging from Superior, through Deluxe, to the nine Master Suites that offer all the grandeur of the Victorian period, married with every mod con imaginable. Suites have superb views over Kenmare Bay, large open plan sitting areas; oversized beds, luxury bathrooms and some have big bay windows looking out over the gardens. Deluxe rooms face the water, gardens and Caha Mountains in the distance, are large and comfortable, and with spacious lounge areas and generously sized bathrooms. Superior rooms are quaint and intimate, each with a separate sitting area and well equipped ensuite bathing. All rooms at the Park have antique furnishings, original art works and oil paintings, TV, CD and DVD players, and a selection of reading material, as well as extravagant De Witte Lietare towelling, Rivolta Carmignani linen, and Floris toiletries. Perhaps the most important touch though is the gorgeous toy furry Kerry lamb which is popped on the pillow in every room! If you fancy watching a film in your room one evening, a listing of popular DVDs is kept in reception. But you can go one better, and visit the hotel’s own twelve seater Reel Room cinema, which shows a Hollywood classic nightly. The gardens here are a mix of eleven acres of well groomed landscaped areas complimented by the forty acre Reenagross Nature Reserve which goes down to the bay area. Very nearby is Kenmare Golf Course, for which the Park holds preferential tee times, and bookings can be made at reception. If fishing is your thing, Barfinnihy Lake is also close, and the hotel holds licences for rods, and can provide a gillie if necessary.
